Get to know Batley Camera Club
Batley Photographic Society was originally founded in 1897 and was one of twelve founder members of the Yorkshire Photography Union (YPU). In 1952, the club reformed and is now known as Batley & District Camera Club. The club as it stands today has been running for over 70 years.
We currently meet every Tuesday evening and take part in a range of photography related activities, such as hands-on photography workshops, critique nights, battles against local clubs and photo walks. We also welcome lectures from acclaimed photographers.
The purpose of our camera club is to help us all improve and grow our passion for photography, and we are very proud of how our club runs today.
The majority of our members shoot digitally, but do have some members who shoot in film. All styles of photography are welcome in our club. If you would like to learn more about the club or are interested in joining, please take a look at our syllabus or get in touch via our contact page.
